According to our weekly analysis of exchange rates published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the fourth working week of September 2025, the US dollar depreciated against the national currency – the soum – by 115 soums.
Weekly dynamics
Throughout the week, the dollar-to-soum exchange rate experienced certain fluctuations. In particular, the first half of the week was marked by a significant decline:

Monday: +35.16 soums

Tuesday: –92.74 soums

Wednesday: –86.10 soums
This downward trend may be related to dynamics in international markets, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, however, the exchange rate recorded growth:

Thursday: +48.05 soums

Friday: –19.37 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change of the US dollar turned out to be favorable for the national currency, ending with a depreciation of 115 soums.
The Central Bank aims to form exchange rates based on market mechanisms while maintaining stability in economic processes. Such currency fluctuations are considered indicators of the global economic environment, foreign trade volumes, and the level of domestic economic activity.
