According to Peopletalk, 200 people participated in an experiment conducted by scientists. Each participant had to drink coffee at different times of the day, and the results yielded interesting conclusions.
The study showed that people who drank coffee in the morning had both a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular diseases and a lower overall risk of death. In addition, those who consumed caffeinated beverages within the first 2.5 hours after waking up experienced a significant boost in mood.
Drinking coffee during the day did not bring any notable health benefits. On the contrary, coffee consumed after noon or in the evening disrupted the circadian rhythm and negatively affected sleep quality.
It is known that the circadian rhythm is the body’s internal clock that regulates sleep and wake cycles as well as a number of essential physiological processes. Afternoon coffee consumption may also disrupt hormone levels, such as melatonin.
Experts emphasize that the anti-inflammatory effect of coffee is particularly strong in the morning, as blood markers of inflammation are usually at their highest levels during the early hours of the day.
