Anthropic sues the US Department of Defense

The famous AI developer Anthropic has sued the US Department of Defense. This was caused by the ministry declaring the company a risk to the supply chain. Anthropic's management calls this decision illegal and unprecedented pressure. Reports techcrunch.com.
The conflict arose due to the parties' differing views on the use of AI for military purposes. Anthropic has strictly opposed the use of its technologies for mass surveillance or autonomous weapons operating without human control. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the Pentagon should use AI systems for any legal purpose without restrictions.
The government's label of being a risk to the supply chain has had serious consequences for the company. As a result, all of Anthropic's contracts with the federal government were terminated. According to company representatives, the government is using state power to punish a company that does not align with its views, which is unconstitutional.
The lawsuit filed states that the Department of Defense did not follow legal procedures in making this decision. Specifically, no risk assessment process was conducted, and the company was not given an opportunity to defend itself. Currently, Anthropic is seeking justice through the courts to protect its economic interests and its position on AI safety.
