Doctor lists the most harmful foods for intestines

Gastroenterologist Natalya Motileva has warned about the most dangerous food products for gut health. The expert emphasized that ultra-processed foods pose a serious threat to the human body, particularly the gastrointestinal tract.
The doctor specifically advises against consuming more than 500 grams of meat products per week, such as sausages, hot dogs, and ham. Regular consumption of such products significantly increases the likelihood of developing dangerous tumors on the lining of the colon or rectum, known as colorectal cancer.
Fast food, chips, and sugary carbonated drinks also negatively affect gut microflora. Such products reduce the diversity of beneficial bacteria in the gut, complicate the digestive process, and lower immunity. As a result, a person may develop various inflammatory diseases.
According to Motileva, emulsifiers in industrially prepared products can cause diarrhea, while excess salt and sugar lead to fluid retention in the body. Furthermore, products with high fructose content disrupt bowel movements, causing bloating and pain. The doctor advises prioritizing natural and minimally processed foods to stay healthy.
