In Uzbekistan, taking into account the errors in technical devices and vehicles, it is proposed to increase the current practice of subtracting 5 km/h from the generally established speed limit to 10 km/h. The corresponding instruction was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov on July 24 last year.
The document was announced by former deputy of the Legislative Chamber Rasul Kusherbayev. According to him, a draft regulatory document on this issue has already been prepared. If the relevant decision is made, drivers in urban areas will be able to drive at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour (60 + 10) without risking a fine. Starting from April 5, 2023, the maximum permitted speed of vehicles in all cities of Uzbekistan was reduced from 70 kilometers per hour to 60 kilometers per hour.
The instruction also provides for the introduction of a practice of allowing the recording of traffic violations related to the continuous 1.1 road grade line separating one-way lanes in areas where the requirements of the Road Traffic Act and GOST are met.
In addition, it is proposed to make it mandatory to indicate in the fine decision the extended information on the technical means recording violations (type, serial number and verification certificate).
The "Safe City" Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is designated as the authorized body responsible for monitoring the installation and operation of a special automated photo and video recording system for traffic violations on motor roads by business entities. By May 1, 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs must develop a single state standard for the implementation, commissioning and use of photo and video recording information systems (server devices, photo and video recording cameras). The Safe City Center will also regularly re-examine photo and video recording devices installed by all business entities and conduct tests in accordance with the established procedure.
