A shocking incident that occurred in Andijan region has completely shaken the public. On July 4, the person who deliberately killed a police officer and went into hiding was finally caught. The Ministry of Internal Affairs provided official information.
The suspect in this crime was discovered in the “Sukoloq” cemetery, located in the “Yuksalish” neighborhood of Khojaabad district, hiding among corn stalks. He was found by law enforcement officers at around 06:30 in the morning.
Most shockingly, during the arrest, he attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself in the abdomen. Emergency medical aid was provided at the scene, and he was then urgently transported to the hospital to save his life.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 97, Part 2, Section “g” of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan — intentional homicide. Investigators are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the suspect’s actions, movement patterns, hiding location, and additional details.
It is noted that the perpetrator shocked the public not by any act of bravery, but through cruelty and unlawful behavior. This tragedy has led to intense discussions not only among law enforcement but also across society.
After the incident, a large-scale search operation was launched across the region to locate the criminal. Not only law enforcement officers but also ordinary citizens actively participated. The Ministry expressed its gratitude to everyone who assisted in the arrest.
Currently, the suspect is under medical observation in the hospital, and a forensic medical examination has been assigned. If found guilty, he may face life imprisonment.
