Controller specialist detained for bribe under pretext of "poor-quality bricks" (video)

In Samarkand, an official from the technical regulation inspection department broke the law himself — reported by the State Security Service. The principal specialist of the regional inspection department was detained while taking a bribe.

According to the information, during an inspection of a private brick factory in Pakhtachi district, he fabricated evidence, claiming that bricks worth 226 million sums were of poor quality, although no such violations occurred.

He blackmailed the factory’s management: "We’ll reduce the fine from 226 million to 25 million if you pay 3,000 USD."

Thanks to prompt action by the State Security Service, he was caught in his office receiving 2,500 USD as a bribe — all captured on video.

Currently, a criminal case under Article 210, Part 2(b) of the Criminal Code has been launched and he has been remanded in custody. Investigations continue.
