One strike decided it all: Al-Ittihad took three points in a tough clash with Al-Taawoun

In Round 13 of the Saudi Pro League, Al-Ittihad beat Al-Taawoun 1–0 at home. A second-half goal was enough for the hosts, who then defended their lead well for the remaining minutes. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
The first half was cautious from both sides: little risk, with most of the battle for the ball taking place in midfield. Although Al-Ittihad enjoyed more possession, the visitors stayed compact, closing down spaces and preventing clear chances.
After the break, the hosts raised the tempo, and in the 50th minute the decisive moment arrived: Muhannad Al-Shankiti finished accurately after a pass from Moussa Diaby to open the scoring. After that, the coaches increased the number of substitutions to change the flow of the game.
Al-Taawoun stepped up the pressure, mainly looking for opportunities through set pieces and crosses, while Al-Ittihad repelled attacks with a compact defensive shape. In the closing minutes, the hosts focused on controlling the open spaces, the score remained unchanged, and the match ended in a narrow win.
