In the capital derby of Round 17 of France’s Ligue 1, PSG beat Paris FC 2–1, proving their favorite status in practice. The hosts took the initiative from the opening minutes and kept confident possession, while the visitors withstood the pressure for a long time thanks to a compact defense. Just before the break, a costly mistake by Paris FC in midfield was punished: PSG made the most of the situation, and Désiré Doué opened the scoring with a precise finish.
The second half unexpectedly intensified. Paris FC won a penalty and Willem Geubbels converted it confidently. But the draw did not last long: Ousmane Dembélé took advantage of a chance that emerged after a deflection and put PSG back in front.
After that, Luis Enrique’s side slowed the tempo, kept full control of the game, and did not allow the opponent to build sustained pressure. Fans in the stands managed to start celebrating the derby win even before the final whistle.
These three points helped PSG cut the gap to the league leaders. Paris FC, meanwhile, extended their winless run in Ligue 1.
