Russia head coach Valeriy Karpin commented on a potential call-up for 17-year-old midfielder Amir Ibragimov, who plays in the Manchester United system. This was reported by euro-football.ru. reports .
The coach said he had heard of Ibragimov but had not followed his matches regularly. Karpin stressed that any player who is eligible to play for the Russia national team and can benefit the squad will be considered.
At the same time, the coach added that other specialists within the national team staff monitor players of that age. In his view, Ibragimov currently fits the youth national team level more.
This season, Amir Ibragimov has played 12 matches for the Manchester club’s reserve and youth teams, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist.
