Bayern fail to reach agreement with Upamecano on new contract

Munich’s Bayern have still not reached a final agreement on a new contract with centre-back Dayot Upamecano. This was reported by journalist Maximilian Koch. This is reported by euro-football.ru reports .

According to the source, two key issues are being discussed in the talks: the duration of the new deal and the terms for early termination. The parties are trying to agree whether the player will stay with the team until 2030 or until 2031. The early-termination clause could also come into effect from 2027 (at the player’s request) or from 2028 (at the club’s request).

Financial terms are almost agreed: Upamecano is expected to earn €20 million per year and receive a signing bonus of the same amount. Despite the negotiations dragging on for a month, the likelihood of the defender staying at the club is said to be high.

This season, the 27-year-old Frenchman has made 24 appearances, scored 1 goal, provided 1 assist and received 7 yellow cards.
