Uzbekistan's national team has won its first gold medal at the VI Asian Beach Games, being held in the Chinese city of Sanya. Barnoxon Sayfullayeva secured this success in the beach athletics competition. This is reported by Uzdaily.uz reports.
Competing in the high jump, our athlete outperformed all her rivals with a result of 1.85 meters. Sayfullayeva's performance was recorded as the highest result of the tournament.
Silver and bronze medals went to representatives of host China. Both Chinese athletes cleared 1.83 meters, but they shared the podium places based on the number of attempts.
At present, the only gold medal in Uzbekistan's delegation has been brought by Sayfullayeva. The competitions continue.
