PSG head coach Luis Enrique commented on the team’s players — Senegalese winger Ibraima Mbaye and Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
Both players took part in the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations. Hakimi returned after a long injury layoff, reached the final of the tournament and won a silver medal. Mbaye, meanwhile, became continental champion with Senegal.
According to Enrique, Hakimi has returned to the team and is in decent physical condition. Before training, the coach wants to speak with him privately to find out how he feels, after which a decision will be made on whether he will be included in the squad. Enrique also stressed that he will closely monitor Hakimi’s actions in training.
The specialist also noted that returning from national teams is always a positive thing for players. He said he is especially happy for Mbaye: the young winger is maturing thanks to match practice with PSG and experience at the Africa Cup. Enrique added that this process will be an important step for Mbaye and that he is proving his level.
The 27-year-old Hakimi played 5 matches at the Africa Cup of Nations and recorded 1 assist. The 17-year-old Mbaye scored 1 goal in 6 appearances.
