Let us remind you that the World Cup will be held across three countries — the USA, Canada and Mexico. Balogun plays for the United States national team.
“I always say: the most important thing is the shape you arrive at the World Cup in. Right now at Monaco I need to focus fully on my performances on the pitch, and that will help me go to that tournament in the best possible condition,” the club’s press service quoted the player as saying.
This will be the first World Cup in history to be hosted simultaneously by three countries. The tournament will also feature 48 national teams for the first time.
The USA has hosted the World Cup only once before — in 1994. Brazil won the tournament that year.
