A woman named Tanya accused Facebook of using personal data to send targeted ads and filed a lawsuit. After that, the company agreed to stop showing such ads to some users.
Another woman, Rhiannon Lawson, said that after losing her baby, she kept seeing ads for baby products and pregnancy apps on her phone. She described it as painful.
Meta stated that users have the option to limit ads, but many say these settings do not work properly.
