An important step has been taken in the direction of international cooperation in the education system of Uzbekistan - in the coming years, more than 500 British teachers are expected to work in the country's schools. This was officially announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
Minister Hilola Umarova recently visited London, met with scholarship holders of the "El-Yurt Umidi" Foundation and held negotiations with leading organizations in the field of education in Great Britain. Within the framework of this visit, a bilateral memorandum of understanding was signed with the prestigious British organization VSO (Volunteers Services Overseas).
According to the agreement, more than 500 British citizens - qualified specialists and volunteers - will teach in Uzbek schools. Their knowledge and experience will serve to improve the skills of local teachers and implement modern educational methods in practice.
Currently, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Great Britain is expanding. This week, the two countries signed a cooperation program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025-2026. Great Britain announced its full support for Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization. Also, a British consortium is participating in the implementation of major infrastructure and energy projects in Uzbekistan.
