Saudi Arabia opens its borders to Uzbek pilgrims

According to a new decision by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, starting from March 10, two-way passenger flights to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are being resumed. This important news was officially communicated to all national and foreign airlines operating in our country. We remind you that due to the complex situation in the Middle East and the temporary closure of airspace, Umrah pilgrimages organized by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and various tour operators had been suspended since March 1.

According to official instructions, airlines must strictly adhere to international flight rules, safety requirements, and all procedures established by the competent authorities of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In particular, it is emphasized that for flights to Saudi Arabia, all pilgrims must leave the country before the end of the Umrah season and the start of the "Haj 2026" season. This requirement is important for the proper organization of the pilgrims' travel plans.

This permission granted by the Ministry of Transport is good news for many Uzbek pilgrims and tourists. Currently, airlines are coordinating their activities to revise flight schedules and create convenience for passengers. Pilgrims are requested to contact their respective tour operators for accurate information about flight times and procedures. The ministry is keeping the situation under constant control and is taking all measures to ensure flight safety.
