Free online video courses will be introduced for vocational training

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became acquainted with a presentation on ensuring employment for the population and new approaches in the vocational education system.

It is reported that this year, banks are being connected to local communities, contributing to ensuring employment. Specifically, in the first half of the year, more than 3 million people were employed in paid work. As of July 1, the poverty rate stands at 6.8%.

It was noted that some labor relations norms are creating difficulties for entrepreneurial entities, especially small businesses. Information technology tools are not being fully utilized in hiring processes.

Moreover, current requirements do not encourage employers to openly announce real vacancies. This leads to the concealment of such information, limiting the ability to properly analyze the labor market and identify areas for vocational education.

The presentation also included information on new plans and initiatives aimed at solving these issues.

According to the plan, employment agencies will become a partner, rather than a punitive authority, for employers, serving them by providing their services.

In particular, it is proposed to abolish penalties for failing to provide mandatory vacancy information and for not hiring candidates. As a result, employment agencies will collect accurate and valid data, directing citizens who are looking for work. The employer will decide whether to hire the candidate or not.

To implement this system, a special electronic platform will be created, which will initially be piloted in Tashkent and later rolled out across the country.

In addition, vacancies where finding specialists is difficult will be turned into key areas for vocational education, helping to organize targeted training processes.

To improve the quality of vocational education, there are plans to involve private sector representatives in the work of the Vocational Skills Centers, and to turn some centers into educational institutions specializing in specific fields.

Officials have been tasked with transitioning the vocational education system to a three-level structure. This includes introducing free online video courses and providing opportunities for retraining or skills enhancement through “vocational services” for working citizens.

The president emphasized that preparing qualified personnel is one of the most important factors contributing to the reduction of unemployment and poverty in the country.
