The Central Bank of Uzbekistan is set to develop a fintech development strategy until 2030 with the assistance of foreign experts by the beginning of April 2026. This requirement has been outlined in a presidential decree.
Additionally, the regulator is expected to involve a foreign company with an experienced venture fund manager. Plans include establishing a special commission to support fintech development and approving a support program for the sector for 2025-2026.
It should be noted that starting from 2026, a special regulation allowing the use of tokens as a payment method will be introduced in the republic. Furthermore, a payment system based on distributed ledger technology is scheduled to undergo testing.
This system stores data across multiple computers and synchronizes them with each other.
