International cargo transit via Uzbekistan exceeded 2.8 million tons

In 2025, the volume of international freight transportation and transit through Uzbekistan exceeded 2.8 million tons, the Ministry of Transport reported. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .

According to the data, cargo flows along the Middle Corridor increased from 500 thousand tons in 2020 to over 1 million tons by 2025. The fastest growth was recorded on the China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan route, rising from 33.7 thousand tons to 1.8 million tons.

In addition, Uzbekistan is advancing the Trans-Afghan railway project, with work underway on the feasibility study (FS). In the road transport segment, an e-Permit electronic permit system has been introduced in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

Moreover, 24 transport and logistics centers in the country were granted international “dry port” status. It was noted that this will speed up cargo handling and make transit through Uzbekistan even more efficient.
