Hyundai Rotem sends the first high-speed train to Uzbekistan

Hyundai Rotem has sent its first high-speed train to Uzbekistan. The loading ceremony took place on December 10 at Masan Port in South Korea.

This was reported by ChosunBiz. The ceremony was attended by Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev and executives of the South Korean company.

The first batch consists of seven carriages, which were manufactured within one year and five months after the contract was signed. According to the plan, this initial batch will be delivered to Uzbekistan in January-February 2026.

This delivery is one to two months ahead of the originally scheduled timeline. The remaining 35 carriages (five trains) are expected to be delivered by 2027.

The trains are specifically designed for Uzbekistan's conditions. They are protected against dust and can operate in high temperatures and sandstorm conditions.

The new carriages are planned to operate on routes exceeding 1,200 kilometers in distance, including the route from Tashkent to Bukhara.
