Snowfall expected early next week

UzHydromet has announced the weather forecast for January 18–25. According to the forecast, precipitation, mainly in the form of snow, is expected in several regions of Uzbekistan at the beginning of the week.
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, mostly dry weather will prevail, however, on January 21 snowfall and fog are possible in some areas. Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to −5…−13°C, while daytime temperatures will range from −6°C to +3°C.
In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, the weather will also be changeable. On certain days, particularly on January 21 and 25, snowfall is possible in some areas. Night temperatures may drop to −8°C, while daytime temperatures are forecast at around 0…+5°C.
In the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, rain and snow are possible in some places on January 21. On other days, mostly dry and cool weather is expected. Fog may occur in some areas.
In the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, short-term precipitation is possible on January 21–22. In the following days, stable and relatively mild weather is expected.
In the Andijan, Namangan regions and the Fergana Valley, light snowfall is possible in some areas on January 18. In the following days, precipitation will decrease and the weather will remain cool.
In foothill and mountainous areas, snowfall is expected from time to time. On January 18–19, the risk of avalanches remains in some locations.
Experts reported that air temperatures will gradually decrease in the second half of January, and by the end of the month, severe cold may be recorded in the northern regions of the country.
