A plane crashed into a frozen lake in the US state of Alaska. The pilot and two children who were inside the airship sat on the wing of the plane for 12 hours, waiting for rescuers, Bild reports.
The Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser light aircraft disappeared from radar screens on the evening of March 23.
A search operation was launched immediately, but the plane was not easy to find due to the lack of a distress signal. By a lucky coincidence, rescuers paid attention to a mobile phone signal and decided to search the area of Tustumena Lake on the Kenai Peninsula.
The real miracle happened the next day: a pilot named Terry Godeser found out about the search on Facebook and came across the remains of the plane.
“It was torture for me to look at it: when I flew closer, I saw three people sitting on the wing. They were alive and waving at me,” he says.

The crashed plane was piloted by a man, and there were two minor children on board. According to preliminary information, the family flew to Lake Skylak.
Rescuers provided assistance to all three citizens and took them to the hospital, the cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
