A new car in exchange for a painted "Onyx": Civil rights restored!

The complaint submitted by a resident of our capital to the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection was positively resolved. According to the complaint, the citizen purchased a "Onix Premier" car from the "Asacar" dealership for a price of 221.6 million soums, with an initial payment of 50%.

However, when the car was taken to a service center to install a gas cylinder, painted areas were discovered on its upper part. That is, the buyer noticed that the car, which was presented as new, had previously damaged or repainted parts. Naturally, this affects the quality, market value, and reliability of the vehicle.

The buyer initially contacted the dealership management, but unfortunately, his request to replace the car with a new one was denied. As a result, he appealed to the Committee, requesting assistance in recovering 10.5 million soums in expenses related to the car.

Based on this appeal, the Committee, in cooperation with “UzAuto Motors” JSC, examined the situation. As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that the buyer had indeed received a defective car. Thanks to the Committee's efforts, a brand-new car was delivered to the buyer by “TOSHKENTDEU” LLC (the Asacar Autosentr dealer).

In addition, the buyer’s 10.5 million soums in related expenses were also fully reimbursed. This is yet another clear example of the Committee’s effective protection of consumer rights.

This situation should serve as a lesson for other consumers: every citizen has the right to seek justice. Most importantly — through legal means and by contacting the appropriate authorities.

The Committee calls on consumers to remain vigilant and proactive and not to ignore the quality of the products they purchase.
