According to our weekly analysis of the exchange rates published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the next working week of August 2025, the US dollar decreased by 168.18 soums against the national currency – the soum.
Weekly dynamics
The dollar-to-soum exchange rate experienced certain fluctuations during the week. In particular, a sharp decline was observed in the first half of the week:
Monday: -34.59 soums
Tuesday: -50.19 soums
Wednesday: +27.53 soums
The downward trend on these days may be related to international market dynamics, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, a decrease in the exchange rate was also recorded:
Thursday: -58.48 soums
Friday: -52.65 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change of 1 US dollar was positive for the national currency, ending with a decrease of 168.18 soums.
The Central Bank forms exchange rates based on market mechanisms, striving to maintain stability in economic processes. Such fluctuations in the exchange rate are considered as indicators of the global economic environment, foreign trade volume, and the level of domestic economic activity.
