Famous Czech fisherman Jakub Vágner set a real record at the Vranov Reservoir — he caught a giant catfish almost three meters long.
On August 4, the host of the popular TV show “Fish Warrior” spotted a large shadow underwater while sailing in a boat. Vágner immediately prepared and began the hunt.
The encounter with the huge fish was not easy — the fight lasted almost 50 minutes. Although the catfish resisted with speed and strength, the skill of the experienced fisherman prevailed.
When Vágner brought the fish ashore, its impressive size amazed everyone. After taking a commemorative photo, the fisherman, in accordance with ecotourism rules, released the giant catfish back into the water.
According to experts, such large catfish are extremely rare in European waters, and keeping them alive is of great importance to the natural environment.
