President awards three famous actors with the title of "People's Artist"

Uzbek theater and cinema art witnessed another unforgettable day. According to the decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 23, a number of well-known actors – Saida Rametova, Karim Mirkhodiev and Tohir Saidov – were awarded the honorary title “People’s Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

The decree emphasized that they were awarded this high title for their contribution to strengthening the independence of the country, for their multifaceted talent, fruitful work in the field of theater and cinema, and for their invaluable contribution to raising the spirituality and intellectual potential of the people.

Saida Rametova is one of the most beloved stars of Uzbek cinema and theater. She created many unique characters in films and TV series, winning the hearts of fans. One of her first major steps was the role of Jamila in the film “Bomba” (1995). Later, she appeared as Maryam-opa in the film “Sarvinoz,” and gained wide fame with her role as Munira-opa – Sardor’s mother – in the famous movie “Superkuyov.” In subsequent years, she also played leading roles in “Uchar Qiz,” “Majruh,” and “Farishte.” In 2021, she also participated in the international project – the series “Mendirman Jaloliddin.” In total, Saida Rametova created more than 80 roles in films and series.

Karim Mirkhodiev is considered one of the master actors who left a deep mark on the Uzbek stage. He was born on July 29, 1954, in Bukhara, and studied at the Tashkent State Theatrical and Art Institute named after Ostrovsky. Later, he worked at the Abror Khidoyatov Theater (formerly the Young Guard Theater) and performed more than 60 roles in plays. In 2001, he was awarded the title “Honored Artist of Uzbekistan,” and today his contribution to art has been recognized even more highly.

Tohir Saidov is a famous artist from the Khorezm region. He was born in 1965. He began his creative career in 1991 at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater and since then has played more than 60 roles in stage plays. He became widely known for his role as a beggar in the series “Ko‘ngil ko‘chalari.” In addition, the actor appeared in the series “Shaytanat” and “Sardor,” as well as in more than 20 films, including “Sugdiyona,” “Chavandoz,” and “18 Kvadrat.” In 2005, he was awarded the title “Honored Artist of Uzbekistan.”

Undoubtedly, today’s award is not only a personal achievement of the actors but also a great recognition of the entire Uzbek theater and cinema. Artists such as Saida Rametova, Karim Mirkhodiev, and Tohir Saidov have conquered not only the stage but also the hearts of millions of fans.

This honorary title will encourage them to continue their creative path even brighter, towards new searches and achievements. Because the people always value their beloved artists.
