
China's cybersecurity agency has reported that approximately $13 billion worth of Bitcoin was allegedly stolen by the U.S. government, Bloomberg reports. The incident involves around 127,300 tokens stolen in December 2020 from the LuBian mining pool.
The National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center of China described the event as a "state-level hacking operation." "This was a classic 'black-on-black' operation carried out by a state-sponsored hacking group," the center stated.
Chinese regulators linked the stolen Bitcoin to tokens reportedly confiscated by the U.S. from Chen Zhi, the head of Cambodia's Prince Group. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
