
Former President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev has been officially stripped of all state awards. The corresponding decree was signed by the country's president Sadyr Japarov.
According to the press service of the Presidential Administration, this decision was based on the verdict issued by the Pervomay District Court of Bishkek on June 3, 2025. The decree was adopted on the basis of the requirements of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan and the law "On State Awards, Honorary Titles and Prize Money of the Kyrgyz Republic."
According to the document, Almazbek Atambayev was deprived of the following awards:
- the highest title "Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic";
- Order of Manas, II degree;
- Order "Danaker";
"Dunk Medal."
Also, a number of presidential decrees issued between 1999 and 2017 on the awarding of these awards were recognized as invalid.
This decision is considered an important step in the matter of legal responsibility of former high-ranking officials in Kyrgyzstan. Political and public discussions are expected to continue around this matter in the future.
