The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an official statement about a man jumping down from the upper floor of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. This was reported by Khaleej Times.
According to special forces ensuring the safety of Masjid al-Haram, this person jumped from the top of the building with the intention of suicide. A security officer who was nearby at the time of the incident tried to prevent him from falling to the ground with a heavy blow, as a result of which he himself was injured. Currently, both are hospitalized and are receiving the necessary medical care. It was announced that all relevant legal and official investigations regarding the situation have been completed.

Commenting on the incident, Masjid al-Haram's chief imam Abdur Rahman as-Sudais called on pilgrims to strictly follow the rules of the holy place and maintain established order. He emphasized that every person who visits the holy place should follow the rules of Islamic etiquette and dedicate themselves only to worship and obedience.
The Chief Imam also reminded that one of the main goals of Islamic law is to protect human life. In his statement, he cited Allah's verse meaning "Do not throw yourselves into destruction with your own hands," emphasizing once again that life is the greatest blessing.
