Former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road traffic accident in Nigeria. According to local law enforcement and international media reports, the incident occurred on December 29 on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway running through Ogun State.

The boxer’s representatives also confirmed that his condition is stable and that he remains under medical supervision.

Joshua is known to have been in Nigeria in recent days on a private visit. He travels to the country from time to time, as it is linked to his family roots.

No additional information has yet been provided regarding the cause of the accident or possible legal consequences.

For reference, Anthony Joshua is one of the UK’s most prominent professional boxers. Born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, he is the London 2012 Olympic champion.
