Social Support Prioritized in the Budget

Social support as a priority in the budget
Uzbekistan plans to strengthen the social orientation of its budget in 2026. Every year, it will ensure that the salaries of budget organization employees, as well as pensions and allowances, exceed the inflation rate.

Fiscal rules will be maintained to limit the budget deficit to no more than 3 percent of GDP, and state debt will not exceed 50 percent. The education sector will be expanded, with funds allocated to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.

In the healthcare sector, hospitals will undergo modernization, and digitalization efforts will be carried out. Additionally, the government plans to allocate funds for the development of transport infrastructure, energy, water supply, and educational institutions.

Regions will be granted greater authority to independently manage their budgets, and additional assistance will be provided to economically underdeveloped provinces. At the same time, a system to monitor the effective use of funds in these regions will be implemented.
