A traffic accident in Namangan has resulted in the death of traffic officer Doniyor Nurillayev, according to the press service of the authorities. The tragedy occurred on November 25 at around 8:00 PM, while the officer was crossing an unregulated pedestrian crossing.
According to reports, Doniyor Nurillayev was heading to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' hospital in Yangi Namangan district for treatment. The driver, who struck the pedestrian, was a minor without a driver's license.
The minor was driving a Onix vehicle at high speed and attempting to overtake another vehicle. As a result of the incident, the officer sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
The Yangi Namangan district prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case regarding the incident.
