Real Madrid’s 13-month trophy drought continues

Real Madrid have gone 13 months without winning a major trophy and have suffered defeats in six competitions during that period, drawing widespread attention. The club’s struggles have been widely discussed by fans and experts.

Yesterday, in the Spanish Super Cup final, the Madrid side lost 2–3 to Barcelona. The defeat became another test for the “Royal Club” and raised questions about the team’s current form and tactical readiness.

Real’s last triumph came in December 2024, when they beat Mexico’s Pachuca 3–0 in the FIFA Club World Cup final. In the following year, Los Blancos lost to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey finals and finished the La Liga season in second place.

In the Champions League quarter-finals, the team fell to Arsenal, and at the Club World Cup PSG thrashed Alonso’s side. This run of setbacks is being noted as one of the biggest tests in the club’s history.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the Royal Club remains one of the most decorated teams, maintaining its status with a record 15 Champions League titles.
