China's satellite to be named after Samarkand
China's STAR.VISION company has decided to name one of its hyperspectral satellites "Samarkand-2028." Additionally, the company announced its support for the International Astronautical Congress to be held in Uzbekistan in 2028.

This decision was made within the framework of a strategic memorandum signed with the Uzbek Space Agency "Uzbekcosmos." The document outlines the implementation of joint projects in satellite technology, the development of space technologies, and the strengthening of scientific and technological integration.

The parties also agreed to collaborate on creating national maps of cotton and wheat using hyperspectral data.
