Rising Demand for Air Transport: IATA Report

Growth in demand for air transport: IATA report

According to a new report by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), global demand for passenger and cargo air transport continued to grow in October of this year. This demand increased by 8.5% compared to the same period last year.

The report highlighted particularly high growth rates in passenger flow in the Asian region. Transport on routes to China, Japan, and Vietnam saw significant increases, with annual growth exceeding 10%. IATA indicated that one of the main reasons for this growth is the economic development in Asia and favorable conditions for transportation.

Meanwhile, some lower performance indicators were observed in air transport processes in the Middle East due to geopolitical tensions and existing disruptions in 2024. Despite this, IATA also recorded a 4.1% increase in cargo transportation.

Growth in global trade and industrial production has positively influenced the development of the air transport industry. The market has now experienced continuous growth for the past eight months.

Aviation companies in the Asia-Pacific region reported an 8.3% annual increase in cargo transportation demand in October. Capacity for these shipments also grew by 7.3%. Routes between Europe and Asia showed the highest growth among these figures.

The growth rate of international passenger and cargo transportation continues to rise, which holds positive significance not only for global trade but also for overall economic development.
