Rare Planetary Alignment to Be Observed in 2026

At the beginning of January 2026, a rare astronomical event will occur: Venus and Mars will appear very close to the Sun. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.

This close proximity will create a bright "trio" visible in the night sky. This rare phenomenon can be observed with the naked eye on the nights of January 6–7, 2026.

Experts emphasize that the likelihood of such an event aligning with a specific calendar date occurs once every 20,000 years. According to scientists’ calculations, the next such planetary alignments can be observed in the year 2267, as well as in December 2324 and at the end of 2623.
