In recent years, the amount of taxes paid in Uzbekistan by international companies operating in the digital services market has been increasing year by year. According to the Tax Committee, during the first half of 2025 — January to June — a total of 78.2 billion Uzbek soums in taxes were paid by 72 foreign legal companies.
This figure is 42 percent higher than in the same period of 2024. That is, the demand for digital services is growing, and accordingly, revenues to the state budget are also increasing significantly.
According to the Committee, these taxes were mainly paid by leading technology companies. In particular, Meta Corporation (owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) was registered as the largest taxpayer — 22.6 billion soums.
Several other major digital platforms also contributed significant amounts to the state treasury:
-
Meta — 22.6 billion soums
-
Apple — 22.1 billion soums
-
Google — 19.4 billion soums
-
OpenAI — 2.9 billion soums
-
Booking.com — 1.9 billion soums
-
TikTok — 1.8 billion soums
-
Netflix — 896 million soums
-
Assa — 797 million soums
-
Zoom — 786 million soums
-
Adobe — 530 million soums
It is clear that nearly 94 percent of all taxes come from these 10 major companies. This shows how actively they operate in Uzbekistan’s digital services market.
According to the data, foreign legal entities providing electronic services must submit the relevant tax reports and make payments in due time — no later than the 20th day of the month following each quarter.
This statistic once again confirms the growing pace of the digital economy in our country and the strong interest of global IT companies in the Uzbek market.
These processes not only increase economic activity but also create opportunities for stable growth of revenues to the state budget. Therefore, it is expected that these figures will continue to rise in the coming years.
