If a person has not changed their eating habits, but is gaining weight, then most likely their metabolism has slowed down. This problem often occurs in people over 40.
Nutritionist Catherine Gervasio explains that with age, metabolism slows down, even if the diet and physical activity have not changed. Therefore, she recommends that such people review their diet and eliminate three products from their diet.
First of all, products with added sugar cause a slowdown in metabolism. These are, first of all, sweets, cookies and candies sold in stores.
The second harmful product is sugary and sweet snacks. Their high sugar content causes rapid changes in blood glucose levels, which negatively affects metabolism.
The third product is yogurts with artificial additives. The expert recommends eating unsweetened natural Greek yogurt instead.
