The experienced 36-year-old goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, Sven Ulreich, has openly shared a heartbreaking personal tragedy. He revealed that several weeks ago, his 6-year-old son, Len, passed away following a prolonged and severe illness.
“With deep sorrow, we announce that our son Len passed away a few weeks ago due to a long-lasting and serious illness. Making the decision to publicly share this was incredibly difficult for us. However, we saw it as a necessary step to provide clarity for those around us and for the public,” Ulreich stated.
He mentioned that he and his wife, together with their daughter, are gradually trying to return to normal life. During this immensely painful period, the support from family, friends, and the Bayern club has been extremely valuable to them.
“We want to sincerely thank everyone who supported us in recent months, especially the Bayern club. That support meant a lot to us and symbolized true empathy,” said the goalkeeper.
Sven Ulreich also called on journalists and the public to respect his family's privacy, and to avoid any further inquiries or contact that could cause emotional harm. He emphasized that in such devastating moments, everyone deserves peace and private space.
