A bright smile is incomplete without healthy, soft lips. However, cold weather, wind, summer heat, or improper care can cause dryness and make lips prone to cracking. To prevent this, it’s important to adopt a few beneficial habits.
-
Drink enough water throughout the day
Dehydration is one of the main causes of dry lips. Drink at least 1.5–2 liters of clean water daily to maintain natural moisture. -
Protect lips from temperature and wind
In winter, frost and wind, and in summer, intense sunlight can damage lips. Apply SPF lip balm before going outside. -
Avoid licking your lips
Many people lick their lips when they feel dry, but this speeds up dehydration. Use a moisturizing balm instead. -
Use natural oils
Olive oil, or coconut oil at night nourishes lips and prevents cracking. -
Exfoliate to prevent cracks
Once a week, use a gentle scrub made of honey and sugar or a special lip scrub to remove dead skin cells and improve circulation. -
Eat a balanced diet
Foods rich in vitamins A, E, and C (carrots, oranges, nuts) strengthen lip structure and promote health.
