On February 24, at a meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an unexpected but pleasant moment was seen. After a 4th grade pupil who took part in the meeting sang a song, it was said that he would be given a car as a gift. Journalist Aziza Kurbonova reported this.
It is said that a boy named Otamurod stated that he would sing a song by Komiljon Otaniyozov. The President, jokingly, said “Let it also be from Otajon Xudoyshukurov’s repertoire,” making people laugh. After this conversation, the head of state said that a car would be gifted to the pupil.
The main topic of the meeting was youth employment. It was noted that every year 600 thousand young people enter the labor market, and by 2030 this figure may reach 1 million. The President emphasized that creating conditions so that young people can find themselves and get a job that suits them is the most urgent issue.
Also, according to the results of a survey conducted among young people, one third of them expressed a desire to become entrepreneurs. Last year, 400 million dollars were allocated to banks and the Youth Affairs Agency to ensure youth employment. It was said that through the “Youth business” and “A step to the future” programs, 15 thousand young people started their own business, and as a result 50 thousand people were provided with jobs.
Another important news item was also announced at the meeting: an additional 200 million dollars will be allocated to support youth entrepreneurship. In addition, it was reported that it is planned to allocate loans of up to 10 billion soums (currently up to 5 billion soums) for young entrepreneurs’ projects, and to allow investment of up to 100 thousand dollars in innovative startup projects.
In short, there were many numbers and many decisions at the meeting. But what remained in most people’s memory was that gift which brought joy to the heart of the child who sang.
