89 Percent of HIV Patients in Uzbekistan Receiving Treatment

89 percent of people living with HIV in Uzbekistan are undergoing treatment
According to the Ministry of Health, Uzbekistan is approaching the UN's "95-95-95" strategic goals. In the country, 87 percent of people living with HIV are aware of their diagnosis, and 89 percent of those are receiving the necessary antiretroviral therapy.

Currently, nearly 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV, with approximately 1.5 million new cases reported annually. The disease claims the lives of over 600,000 people every year.

Data from the Ministry of Health indicates that expectant mothers diagnosed with HIV and their newborns are provided with antiretroviral drugs. Additionally, newborns are supplied with dry milk formula until they reach six months of age.

To prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, the testing rate for pregnant women has reached 100 percent. As part of the screening efforts this year, more than 5 million individuals have undergone testing.
