Uzbek scientists have discovered hydrogel, which quickly heals wounds

Scientists from the Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, together with international partners, have developed a new hydrogel for rapid wound healing. This hydrogel is intended for the treatment of infected wounds, which reduces wound inflammation and accelerates tissue regeneration.

The main properties of hydrogel are high adhesion, elasticity, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It protects the wound from external factors, has an effective antibacterial effect, and promotes wound healing.

The research results were published in the international scientific journal "Chemical Engineering Journal" and recognized by the world scientific community. In the development of this hydrogel, polyvinyl alcohol, mussels, iron ions, and artemisinin were used. This ensures its mechanical strength.

According to Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Haydar Yunusov, hydrogel, unlike traditional dressings, is not limited to wound closure, but also has an antibacterial effect, controls inflammation, and creates a favorable environment for tissues.
