How does walking without a hat pose a health risk in winter?

Walking without a hat during the winter months can lead to headaches and ear infections.
This was reported by Ivan Zarubin, an ophthalmologist at the Krasnogorsk Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region.
According to the expert, walking without a hat can cause spasms of the blood vessels in the head and neck. This can cause headaches, dizziness, and high blood pressure in sensitive individuals.
Also, insufficient protection of the ear and hypothermia increase the risk of developing external otitis or various forms of otitis, Zarubin said.
As the doctor noted, although cold weather does not cause colds on its own, it reduces immunity and creates a favorable environment for viruses. Therefore, keeping your head warm in winter is important for your health.
