The head coach of the Uzbekistan national futsal team, Nodir Eliboyev, participated in a press conference organized before the Asian Cup-2026, where he spoke in detail about the team's preparation, goals, and opponents in the group.
The expert first of all expressed gratitude to the Indonesian side. He thanked the country's leadership and officials of football and futsal for the reception, organization, and hospitality in Jakarta, and wished good luck to all participating teams.
According to Eliboyev, the Uzbekistan national team has prepared seriously and thoroughly for the Asian Cup. The team came to Jakarta not just to participate, but with the intention of honorably fulfilling their assigned task.
The head coach openly stated the initial goal: to confidently pass the group stage and secure a place in the playoffs. In every game on this path, the young men were only required to win. Elibayev emphasized that the goal is "difficult, but achievable" and stated that the team is 100% ready to fight.
At the same time, the specialist did not hide the fact that there are problems. Some players were unable to join the squad due to injuries. Since this situation occurred in the last rounds of the national championship, the team was forced to quickly change the connections in the defense and attack lines. Despite this, the national team did not stop preparing, but, on the contrary, worked on new options and tried to restore team play.
Elibayev said that after the first meetings, it will be possible to find out how well the planned work was done. Throughout the tournament, the team emphasizes that they will not limit themselves to just playing, but will continue to analyze, work, and explore.
The head coach is confident: all futsal players called up to the national team are in a fighting spirit, ready to fight to the end on the field. Their main task is the same: to achieve the highest result and give fans victorious, beautiful games.
Speaking about the opponents, Nodir Eliboev noted that there is no such thing as an "easy team" in Asian futsal. He believes that every team that reaches the final stage has mastered futsal well, so there are no weak opponents here. Therefore, the playing style of each team in the group was thoroughly studied, and specific instructions were given to the futsal players.
For information, the Uzbekistan national futsal team will play against Tajikistan, Australia, and Japan in the group stage. Nodir Eliboyev's team will play their first match against Tajikistan on January 28th. The match kicks off at 5:00 PM Tashkent time. The national team's final roster for the Asian Cup was previously announced.
Now everyone expects one thing: that the "militant spirit" in Jakarta will be proven not in words, but on the field.
