Mirziyoyev issued a strict warning to the heads of law enforcement agencies of Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a critical assessment of the effectiveness of the work in the internal affairs system of the city of Tashkent and issued a reprimand to the head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Tashkent, Ravshan Sultanhodjayev, and the acting prosecutor of the city of Tashkent, Anvar Urmanov. At the same time, two managers were given a six-month probationary period.
At the videoconference meeting, it was openly stated that the quality of the activities of investigators and inquiry officers in the capital's internal affairs system is seriously low. It is noted that due to the lack of qualification of employees, criminal cases were not initiated in 833 cases during the past year and were concealed from records. This means that there are problems that are not visible in official reports.
At the meeting, another important aspect was emphasized: despite reports that "crime in the city has decreased by 2,000," in practice, 26 mahallas in Tashkent remain in the "red" category, and 465 remain in the "yellow" category. That is, behind the figures, it is not felt that the situation has fully stabilized.
The scenery in some districts caused particular concern. Among the 208 districts of the republic, Chilanzar has the highest rates of domestic violence, robbery, and hooliganism. Yunusabad is mentioned first in the number of robberies. It was also noted that last year there were many cases of murder in Yashnabad and Mirabad districts, bodily harm in Almazar, and robbery in Shaykhantakhur.
Therefore, it was announced that the heads of internal affairs of these districts have recently been completely replaced. Initiative is expected from the newly appointed officials: the task was set to curb crime in the region, strengthen prevention, and make radical changes in the short term.
At the meeting, one of the most sharp criticisms was directed at the work style of the leaders. Instead of exposing and preventing crimes, the head of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, Ravshan Sultonxo'jayev, and the acting city prosecutor, Sh. It was noted that Anvar Urmanov is "only busy walking around the city in a minibus." That is, there is deceptive monitoring, but there is no systematic result.
The President noted that if leaders work as one with 12 district khokims, the head of internal affairs, the prosecutor, the mahalla "seven," and the public, 7.5 thousand crimes could be prevented. This figure was also set as a clear criterion for those responsible: there are opportunities, resources, but only a lack of work style and responsibility.
In the end, Sultonkhodjayev and Urmanov were reprimanded and given a six-month probationary period. Now it is expected that this period will be assessed not by "formal reports," but by real results, prevention, and joint work.
