The Senate approved the concept of state policy in the religious sphere

On February 20, the fourth plenary session of the Senate considered the law "On ensuring freedom of conscience of citizens in the Republic of Uzbekistan and approving the concept of state policy in the religious sphere." Senators unanimously approved this law.

It was reported that a parliamentary commission will be established to exercise parliamentary control over the implementation of the main tasks set out in this document.

For information, on January 31 of this year, the "Concept of Ensuring Freedom of Conscience of Citizens and State Policy in the Religious Sphere" developed by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was conceptually approved in the first reading and submitted for public discussion until February 9.

During the discussions on the draft concept, more than 400 comments, proposals and recommendations were received from the population, more than 200 of which were positive.

At the next plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held on February 11, this draft law and the draft Concept were adopted in the second and third readings.
