The Bostanliq district of Tashkent region once again faced a dangerous natural disaster — a fire. At 13:00 on July 31, the Emergency Department of Tashkent region received a report that dry grass was burning on the territory of the forest management located in the "Burchmulla" mahalla, Favqulodda.uz reported.
The fire occurred in a hilly area. High temperatures, dry air, and wind created an unfavorable scenario, increasing the risk of fire spreading. For this reason, emergency services promptly arrived at the scene.
Currently, joint efforts are underway between firefighting-rescue units and forestry workers. Using special equipment and tools, measures are being taken to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading. Since the fire in this area is classified as high risk, the situation is under strict control.
After the incident, forestry officials urged citizens not to panic but also not to remain indifferent. During a drought period, even a small fire can lead to major consequences. Therefore, local residents are urged to be cautious in forest areas, follow fire safety rules, and refrain from fire-causing behavior during cleanup events or leisure.
So far, no casualties or damaged buildings have been reported. However, due to the existing risk, preventive measures are being expanded. Officials stated that additional information on the incident will be provided.
It is important to emphasize that protecting nature and forests is not only the responsibility of government agencies but also of civil society. One careless thrown cigarette butt or unfiltered cigarette can burn down an entire mountain forest. This poses a threat not only to nature but also to human life.
The event in Burchmulla once again reminds us to think. If we don’t protect nature — nature will turn away from us.
