On August 23 of this year, the city of Perm (Russia) will host a prestigious international championship dedicated to technical creativity and robotics — the “Battle of Robots.” This year's competition will feature 28 teams from around the world, including teams from Iran, Kazakhstan, India, Brazil, Belarus, China, and other countries.

The tournament will consist of two main parts: an opening ceremony and show prologues, followed by direct combat battles.

Combat robots will compete in two weight categories: heavyweight (up to 110 kg), lightweight (up to 1.5 kg).

In the first stage, 16 teams will compete in the heavyweight category and 12 in the lightweight category. The teams from India and Kazakhstan are particularly noteworthy.

The championship includes not only experienced professionals but also students from technical universities. Teams from top Russian universities such as MISIS, Kalashnikov Izhevsk Technical University, and Bashkir State Agrarian University are expected to participate.

For the 2025 season, a total of 306 applications were received, of which 112 teams were selected. This includes:

  • 48 teams in the lightweight category.

India showed the most interest, submitting 14 applications. Brazil and Belarus submitted 4 each, and China sent 2 teams. Teams from Pakistan, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia will also participate.

The championship is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia (MinTsifry Rossii), and is operated by the nonprofit organization “Engineers and Robots.”
